Letter From the Editor

Note: This is a sample of what the magazine would be like if we had a web-version, with no file to download. I've included 7 articles/projects and pages from the magazine. The content is exactly the same, the layout will be a little different. If you wish to have this version available to you on a regular basis, you must let me know! I don't mind doing the extra work if it's something you want, but if you don't - I'd rather be quilting or knitting! :) Please email me and let me know. If I don't hear from anyone I won't continue with this. Thank you and now on to the regular programming...

Every season is welcomed with sounds of its very own. Summer brings us the whoosh whoosh of the sprinkler, the ice cream truck driving slowly up and down the streets playing it’s little song. The slam of a screen door as children go in and out for towels, popsicles and band-aids.

Summer brings us the fragrance of newly bloomed flowers, the BBQ in the backyard and cut grass.

So many things to do outside tends to leave us with little time in the sewing room, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to spend time in our own playground!

This issue of Cotton Spice brings some quick projects for you to do in-between running the kids to Little League and the pool. When my kids were little, I practically changed my address to 1489 Green Ford. So, I know how precious time in the sewing room can be.

I’ve included one wall hanging quilt in luscious summer colors, for anyone needing a new summer quilt. This would be pretty as a picnic quilt if you have little wall space available.

This June 2008 issue of Cotton Spice marks our 2nd year of publishing Cotton Spice. When we started this business, we made a decision to operate on a cash basis - no debt. We’ve been able to get by on this policy, but it has been difficult. We are just a small family business, there is no big corporation with deep pockets backing us. Because of this, we’ve added a Support page to our home page where donations can be made to help us keep Cotton Spice going. We don’t expect this from anyone, but if you feel like you want to help out, we’d be so grateful.

If you’ve been to the website lately, you’ve noticed that we no longer require you to register or log in. Just come and go wherever you want!

If you haven’t been to the website lately, it’s time for a visit. We have a new Quilt Along which started on June 1. It will run for 8 months and I’m looking forward to a fun time. Rochelle Martin of Cottage Quilt Designs is our designer for this Quilt Along.

Looking forward to many more issue of Cotton Spice!
